Hair fall

It is said that hair is your health barometer and if you’re seeing more of it on your pillow or in the shower, there’s no need to ring any alarm bells. Losing about 100 hairs on a daily basis is a common occurrence. It happens when you comb your hair or even when you just do nothing.  But new ones grow and replace them.

Excessive hair loss is attributed to a number of reasons - genetics, illness, medications, or even a poor diet. It can be extremely disturbing and embarrassing and there are two approaches to hair loss prevention – medical intervention and diet.

When in doubt, see a dermatologist. He will be able to recommend a topical application or a pill. These can be quite effective but the drawback is that they work for only as long as they are used. Your hair will start falling when you quit.
